A few months ago, before I was a crazed youtube fan, a friend showed my a video of a popular youtbuer, "Jeyyounit11", aka, Jeydon Wale. You could say that this video was what started my love for youtube. At first, I was absolutely obsessed with Wale, watching every one of his videos, reading all of his tweets and craving more and more. When Wale joined Awwjam, that is when things started to go down hill.
In its prime, the channel was great, everyone uploaded videos, and the majority of them were hilarious. . From time to time, he would not post his weekly video on Awwjam, and a month or so later, he started not posting anything on to that channel at all. Other then that, Wale barely uploads any videos to his own channel anymore. He has made a few here and there, but not nearly as many as he used to, nor as funny or entertaining.
So, I think to say that Jeydon Wale is a "youtube legend" as well as an astounding youtuber is no longer accurate. While, yes, he does have a large amount of subscribers, the majority of them are fangirls who only like him for his looks. Wale is also keeping a great deal of very important secrets from his fans, and if he really wants to stay true to his fans, I think that he should have them revealed.
Alright, I think that this has been enough bashing on for one day.

A More Serious Entry
With tears streaming down my face, I sit and watch one of ghero46's recent videos. Ghero46, aka Jared, is one of my more recently discovered youtubers. Usually, his videos are comedic and entertaining, but this video, entitled "B.", is not. This is the type of video that I was talking about in one of my earlier posts, the kind that really makes you think as well as feel a variety of emotions. I would have to say that this is the most moving video on Youtube that I have ever seen, for I have never cried at one of them before, and I seldom cry at movies that you are "supposed" to.
When I clicked on the link to Jared's video from his twitter page a few weeks ago, I had no idea what I would be getting into. I was expecting to see Jared's smiling, happy face, but what I saw was the complete opposite. His eyes were red, like he had been crying (which he had) and the look on his face was that of total devastation and misery. Anyway, I don't want to give you a play-by-play of the video, because you really should go watch it, but I will tell you a little bit about it.
B. is a video about suicide.
Alright that was a little intense, but in short, it is about Jared mourning the loss of his friend who committed suicide a few years ago. Even though the two were not the best of friends, you could tell how much this has effected him. Jared then moves on to talk about how suicide is something that can effect and hurt so many people. He, apparently, had thoughts of suicide on various occasions and almost went through with it twice. That really shocked me. Even though I do not actually know Jared, for I only know Ghero46, I know that if he ever did something like that, and was gone forever, I certainly would have bawled my eyes out and feel things that I have never felt before. Jared wants to be a light in the dark for those people who are thinking or have thought about killing themselves, and make them laugh and smile and hopefully not go through with it or ever even think about it. Like I said, this video really just touched a part of me, moved me, and make me think an incredible amount about everything that I had just taken in.
I really hope this post has encouraged you to go watch Jared's video, as well as his other ones, and hopefully, he can be a light in the dark for you.

Always Good For A Laugh
While Youtube may have its daily vloggers and its collab channel's, it also has its funny, but cruel, classic videos. These videos are one of the reasons that Youtube is so famous. While, yes, some may be cruel and embarrassing, they are videos that you can watch over and over and they will never get old. Although there are a great deal of these video's, here are just a few that always keep me laughing:
"Scarlet Takes A Tumble"
Okay, I know that this one is bad, but it had to be up on this list. With over 12 million hits, it's one of the most classic, pointless videos on Youtube.
"Charlie Bit My Finger"
While this isn't one of my personal favorites, it is one of the most well known (182,686,512 views), as well as cutest videos on Youtube.
"Hey Jude"
Whether you've seen this video before, or you're seeing it for the first time, you've got to love this kid. He is definitely a rock star in the making.
"David After Dentist"
Although the original video has been private, this one is just as good. This kid is great, whether its "Is this real life?" or "I have two fingers", this video is always good for a laugh.
"Greatest Freakout Ever"
Out of all of these videos, this one is my personal favorite. To be honest, I think I've seen this video over 30 times--it just doesn't get old. The other "Greatest Freakout Ever" videos are all amazing, as well.

A Not-So-Happy Ending?
The video above shows one of my favorite youtubers--Adorian Deck. At only 16 years old, Deck has already become a well known name on Youtube, a member of Awwjam and is the creator of "OmgFacts" on twitter-- an account with over 550,000 followers. This entry, however, will not be about Adorian's success nor his other video's, just this video above.
A few months ago, Owl City was holding a "Vanilla Twilight" contest, in which you had to make a music video to one of Owl City's hit songs, "Vanilla Twilight"; Deck, being a huge Owl City fan, entered.
After hours upon hours of coming up with a unique idea, filming and editing, the youtuber finally posted this video, which was an instant hit. I, being an Owl City fan myself, adored the video. I don't think that I could ever have the ability, nor patience to create something such as this. The other thing that amazes me about the video is the editing and just the way that it was filmed in general. I've said it before, and I'll say it again-- this is exactly why I love Youtube as much as I do. It's such a great place where average people can be recognized for their talents and creativity.
Anyway, back to the story.
About a week or so later, Deck was in the top 10 for the contest, and had most of the votes--he had a straight shot at winning. Me, being the crazy fan girl that I am was beyond excited, but then I heard the next part of the story, which left me crushed. Adorian had tweeted as well as made a video stating that he was disqualified from the contest because no one from the contest was aware that he had nearly 30,000 followers and subscribers voting for him. While yes, I agree that he had an unfair advantage, it's just so hard to know that someone who had worked so hard and spent so much time on something had it all taken away in an instant.
Contrary to my title, this, in a way, does have a happy ending. While no, Adorian did not win the contest, he still received a few small prizes from Owl City, but most important, he had the help and support from his family, friends and fans, and stayed positive throughout the whole event.
Yes, I am aware that this was a very corny blog.

Awwjam Says Goodbye?

Alright, now that you've had your "Collab Channel 101", I can get to my point. Originally, this blog was going to be about how much I adore Awwjam as well as its members; their videos always keep me laughing and their individual channel's have led me to other youtuber's, which, basically, is how I became a youtube fanatic. However, I was more than disappointed when I went to Awwjam's channel to see what this week's topic would be, and was shocked to see nothing was there. Not only that, but two member's, Alissa and Jeydon, had yet to upload their video's from the previous week. Yes, I am aware that I sound like a crazy fangirl, but Awwjam has not once missed a topic video, and if there is no topic, the members can not make a video.
So here I am, sitting by my computer on a Thursday afternoon, and Awwjam still has not uploaded a video from last week. On any other Thursday, it would be quite normal for Awwjam not to have a video, seeing as Jeydon, the channel's most famous youtuber, has yet to put up a video in over a month, leaving his fangirls, which I am no longer one of, crushed.
Who knows, maybe this is not the end of Awwjam, maybe they're just taking a week off; I suppose that one can only hope. However, if this truly is the end, could they not have the courtesy to post a video explaining why the channel is over, and say goodbye? Maybe that's just me. If you were not bored to death by this blog, I applaud you, and my rant has come to an end.

Whoa- Hold Up.
In this article , Dr. Hamad Al-Majid discusses the purpose of youtube as well as his opinion of it. He starts things off by giving a brief introduction of how youtube was discovered, which was not so horrible. However, once Al-Majid gets to the real story, things go down hill, in my opinion, of course.
Al-Majid describes youtube as a website that is mainly filled with useless content, and a great deal of gossip. While yes, I do agree that youtube has been known for quite a few scandals, that is not how I view it at all. Al-Majid fails to mention what I think to be the most important aspect of this website--creativity. The reason that youtube is so magnificent is because there is nonstop entertainment and creativity that can be found. If one has an opinion on something, or has an idea or just something that they would like to say to the world, youtube is a place that they can share it. Some people, such as myself, enjoy youtube for watching different people's creativity, as well as their humor. There are many video's that just amaze me, such as this one. While yes, the video may be a bit silly, it still is absolutely incredible. The time and effort that it takes to do something like that can make one understand why a person would want the whole world to see their video's. If you have that talent, or humor or just the ability to entertain people in some way, it should not be hidden, but shared with the world.
Alright, I realize that I'm getting a bit off topic, but to sum things up, Al-Majid only recognizes the faults of youtube and does not once mention any other purpose other than the scandals and gossip that the website has caused,

Hey Hi Hello!
To start things off, I just want to give all of you bloggers a little introduction as to what this blog will be about.
Youtube.
Most might know youtube as a place to look up music videos, or pointless, comedic sketches. However, I have much more interest in this website then watching three year old breakdancers. I watch it like I watch television, craving a new video each week by different youtubers, and a new video daily from different collab channels. To cut to the chase, this blog will focus on different youtubers, collabs, and why youtube is such an amusing, addicting and inspiring website.
