While scrolling through my newsfeed on twitter last night, I came across a tweet from MissAlissa15, along with a youtube link. Being my normal youtube-obsessed self, I had no other choice but to clink on the link. I thought it was going to be one of Alissa's vlogs or some other pointless video, but when I saw what it was, I couldn't believe my eyes, er, ears.
What I saw, was this:
Greyson Michael Chance, or "Greyson97", a sixth grader, sang his amazing take on "Paparazzi", by Lady Gaga at a school festival. While his timing might be a bit off, I was and still am amazed by his talent instrumentally as well as vocally. I still can not believe that a voice like that came out of an 11 year old. He has this amazing natural vibratto as well as an amazing range, not to mention the whole thing looked completely effortless. Up until about five minutes ago, I thought that I was the only person who knew about this kid--not exactly. His video has over 1.5 MILLION hits and counting, along with the fact that Ellen Degeneres has already booked him to be on her show this Thursday. Oh yea, did I mention that he also composes and writes the lyrics to his own songs? For an 11 year old, this kid is pretty phenomenal! I'd prefer him over Justin Bieber any day.
